Ruth Bancroft Garden is a treasure of nature located in Walnut Creek. Home to thousands of amazing succulent and cactii as well as drought tolerant California native flora, it is a great place to encounter the diversity of plant life.
In my watercolor classes we discuss that viridian is not found in nature. We actually use it as a blending color when mixing natural greens. During our visit to the Bancroft Garden I was stunned to see this beautiful succulent defying that belief by exploding with viridian blooms.
